Dr. Gagnon holds a doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from McGill University. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and member of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec (O.P.Q.). Since 2002 through research and clinical work, Dr. Gagnon has been helping individuals overcome psychological and motivational difficulties.

He has provided services at the Royal Victoria Hospital where he conducted group and individual therapy. He has been on the board of directors for Criphase since 2002, a community organisation that helps victims of sexual abuse.

His research has focused on motivational determinants to well being and psychological health. Dr. Gagnon has presented his work at international conferences and lectures. He also works on various projects in the video and film industry assessing psychological determinants leading to individual differences and how different social roles influence psychological health.
